Camera Modification

The following sequence of pictures shows how to remove the clickers and water/dust seal from the lens barrel of the ContourROAM camera. This allows the lens to rotate freely without stalling the servo.

Caution: the lens barrel is connected to the camera via a delicate ribbon cable and ground wire. Don't pull the barrel out any further than needed to expose the rubber seal. Any further and you risk damaging the cable / connector.

Remove the three screws:

Unscrew the lens cover and slide off the barrel cover:

Remove the metal clickers and nylon circlip:

Slowly pull out the lens barrel far enough to expose the rubber seal:

Remove the seal:

Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly:
